This privacy policy governs your use of the "RemoteTube" Chrome Extension and its associated mobile companion application.

1. Information We Collect

RemoteTube only accesses and collects YouTube playback data from your active browser tabs when you use the extension. This includes:

• Video title and duration
• Current playback progress (current time)
• Video thumbnail URL
• List of recommended videos shown on the page (to enable remote selection)

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII), browser history on other sites, passwords, credentials, cookies, or personal user data.

2. How We Use the Information

The collected information is transmitted securely (via HTTPS) to our Vercel API backend solely to synchronize the playback state in real-time with your paired mobile remote device. This data is not stored permanently and is never shared with third parties.

3. Local Storage

We use local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your unique device identifier (deviceId) and pairing configuration locally on your computer. This information remains on your device and is used only to maintain the remote connection.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
